Dr. Conrado Rodríguez-Martín holds a PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the University of La Laguna, Director of the Canarian Institute of Bioanthropology since its foundation in 1993 and of the Archaeological Museum of Tenerife since 2010; he has also played multiple roles in research and scientific dissemination. He was president of the World Committee for Mummy Studies (1992-2022) and vice-president of the Spanish Association of Paleopathology (1997-2009). In addition, he has been an officer of the Paleopathology Association and an academician of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. He is a member of several scientific societies and has participated in the evaluation of national and international agencies.

With an outstanding teaching career, he has taught more than 100 courses and participated in more than 15 masters at national and international level. He has also collaborated with forensic anthropology teams in cases of human rights violations (EQUITAS-Colombia, United Nations, etc.). He has published nearly 150 papers and co-authored 15 books, including "The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Human Paleopathology" (1998).

He has coordinated and advised 12 scientific exhibitions and participated in more than 20 round tables. As an expert in popularization, he has worked as a scientific advisor in documentaries for international channels such as BBC, Discovery Channel and National Geographic. His work in bioanthropology, paleopathology and forensic anthropology has left a significant mark worldwide.
