Sonia Guillén is an archaeologist graduated from UNMSM. D. in bioanthropology (U. of Michigan). Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA. She focused her studies on mummies and cultural management works in Moquegua and Amazonas. She was Director of MNAAHP, Directorate General of Museums and Minister of Culture. She coordinated forensic studies of the CVR. She was in charge of the 9th World Congress on Mummy Studies. She directed the Master in Forensic Anthropology and Bioarcheology at PUCP. She is Director of the Mallqui Center and the Leymebamba Community Museum in Amazonas.

She has been Head of the Department of Physical Anthropology of the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of Peru. His research in Bioarchaeology covers from the early stages of the settlement of the Andes to the viceroyalty period. She is currently a professor in the Department of Humanities and Director of the Bioarchaeology and Forensic Anthropology Research Group at the PUCP.

Master in Forensic Anthropology and Bioarchaeology and PhD in Andean Studies with mention in Archaeology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. She works in the Department of Basic Education of the Faculty of Humanities and Education at the University of Atacama in Chile. She has been director of the Institute for Research in Social Sciences and Education and has participated in the Ethics Committee and the Research Committee at the University of Atacama, and has experience in research on heritage and indigenous peoples, collaborating with governmental institutions in these areas.

She has been a forensic consultant for the EPAF, the ICRC and the Directorate for the Search for Disappeared Persons (MINJUSDH), with whom she participated in the investigation of different cases of human rights violations and in the design and implementation of forensic anthropology workshops for different countries. She is currently an associate professor in the Department of HumanitiesPUCP) and collaborates with various bioarchaeological investigations.

International Coordinator
Archaeogeneticist with expertise in human population genomics and ancient pathogenomics. Her specialization includes the application of Sanger and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) laboratory techniques, the use of computational tools for the analysis of genomic data in the framework of population genetics, and the interpretation of this information in the light of evidence from other disciplines such as archaeology and ethnohistory. He has led several scientific projects from their conception to the production of scientific articles.
